You've Got a Friend in Me

Barnes and Sae are really the best of friends. Barnes calls her his "girlfriend" and that is fine with me! I have two children who love in very different ways. Barnes shows his affection very openly and Sae gets much of it! I love these shots taken at a t-ball game. I don't know who was having more fun, the t-ball team or Barnes and Sae!

Good Times at the Beach

The beach has always been our get-way! Miles loves the ocean and Barnes finally braved the waves this year. We usually spend a good part of the summer at the beach and this year has been no exception. We just got home yesterday and I am already ready to get back. Miles and Barnes usually ask to go home around Friday. They miss the luxuries of home (Wii, losts of Legos, Galactic Heroes, and the like). Nana and Poppy have a few toys at their beach house but they will only last a few days and then the boys are ready for their own "stuff".
We have been lucky enough this year to spend time with friends and family at the beach. All of our cousins have been down and we have spent time with our little friends Reese and Daniel. I am so glad we are only a stone's throw away from one of the most beautiful things our Mother Nature has to offer. I hope my kids continue to love it as much as I do!

A Day to Remember

Gam and Pop treated the entire family to a trip to Carowinds last weekend.  Barnes asked when we were going to "Toywinds" 1,000 times before the big day finally arrived.  Miles was more hesitant and wasn't sure he wanted to go.  Once we got there and they scoped things out, they knew it was going to be a fun day!  Miles enjoyed the games and prizes and Barnes loved the rides and characters.  He hugged Dora ten times and even loved Sponge Bob.  He wants to go back as soon as we can because he misses Dora and the airplanes.  Kat (Barnes' favorite person in the whole world) and Zach even joined in on the fun.
I am finding more each day that Miles and Sara Preston should really be siblings because they are exactly alike.  They are cautious and like to be in total control.  I was so proud of both of them for riding the rides.  They were brave even when they weren't so sure of them.
I loved watching the kids take in the wonder of the day, but I most enjoyed the conversation on the way home.  I thought every eye would close but that didn't happen. Sae and Barnes planned a sleepover!  That may be a later post!

Wedding Weekend

Clay and I went to Beaufort last weekend for our friend Mike's wedding.  He was such a handsome groom and Mary Margaret was a beautiful bride.  It was nice to spend time with good friends.  We had a wonderful time.

Spring Break Rewind

I am a little behind on videos!  The boys had the "bug" over Spring Break.  They didn't feel that bad we just couldn't get out like we usually do because we were well...sick. so here are a few videos from our week!

More T-Ball

We are still enjoying t-ball!  Miles is always excited about how hard he hits the ball!  Lan loves it too! Barnes and Sae Sae love to "watch" the game and snack!  Barnes and Sae were sporting their Texas Ranger t-shirts sweet Pop brought them from his recent trip to Texas!

So Proud

Bradley graduated from elementary school this week with HONORS!  He also won a prestigious award for reading!  We couldn't be prouder of him.  He is such a gentleman and a true leader!

Fun at Mimi's

Mimi and Allan's house is our usual summer hangout.  We love spending time at their house with Luke and Lan.  Ellis and Daniel are usually there too!  The boys love to swim in the plastic pool and play on Lan's playset.  There is always something fun going on at Mimi's!

Memorial Day

This year we spent the first part of our weekend with Liz, Dean, and Sae at Nana's beach house.  We met up with some friends and had a great time. The kids played all day on the beach and then we headed to dinner.  Despite a long wait the kids were so good!  After dinner we headed to the arcade where Sae had the magic touch.  She won 1,000 tickets!  She was so sweet to share her earnings with her cousins!  Today we went to Mr. Jimmy's and celebrated with the neighbors.  Miles loved the pool (thank goodness).  Barnes didn't (maybe next time).  We had a great almost summer weekend!

School's Out

Mimi Mitzi captured Miles on his last day of school.  This has been an interesting 3-k!  Miles has learned so much and I can't believe next year he will be in 4-k!  I am constantly begging him not to grow.  His mind is growing as well.  He is into print I know we will blink and he will be reading!  Some famous Milesisms,

"Daddy, I want to wear cool clothes like you."  (translation-Get these monogrammed aplique's off of me!)
"Daddy you've got the skills to play the Star Wars Wii."  (Now Miles has the skills too!  It's all he wants to do!)
When speaking to the owner of Moe's the other day he politely introduced "his little brother Barnes"  When the owner walked away he asked why we didn't tell the guy that his name was Miles.
When we recently bought a new car-he wanted our old one back. He said he didn't want a car that talked!  (He doesn't like change at all!)

You gotta love him!  I know we do!

A New Season Begins...

This past week Miles enjoyed his first two t-ball games.  At this point, we just want Miles to have a good time!  We were so proud of him.  Last year he sat on the bench for the first few games and just watched.  This year he jumped right up and has had no reservations.  We love you Miles and we are so proud to see how much you have grown up in just a year.

Sesame Street!

Wednesday night we went to Sesame Street Live.  It was precious.  Miles was in a trance, Barnes danced the whole time and Clay and I enjoyed watching them.  I was so happy because Miles sat in my lap the whole time.  I like to think it was because he wanted to be close to me but, I think he just needed my knee so he could see better!

The Ball Game

Little Lan is joining the fun this year too!

T-Ball started Tuesday.  We had our first practice.  Miles had lots of fun and actually participated.  Last year he wouldn't go on the field for the first few games!  Boy have things changed.  We were so proud of him.

Just Another Day at Gam's House

When I arrived at Gam's house Tuesday everyone was playing cowboy.  Barnes and Sae didn't stay dressed but Miles did!  There was no horse but the truck did the trick.

Miles and Barnes love to dress up and aren't afraid to wear anything (or nothing).  They are constantly making bold fashion statements!
