Vacation!
Our family along with four other families took a week off from the real world to enjoy the sand and sea! It was nice to be forced to slow down and take everything in without thinking about laundry, bills, cleaning etc. During the week Clay and I spent every minute of every day with the boys. There was no playroom, no Gam or Nana, very little TV-except for Alvin and the Chipmunks....only quality time! Over the course of the week I was forced to come to terms with two things...Miles is no longer a toddler...he is a little boy! Barnes is no longer a baby-He is a toddler! I am a little sad about it but, I am so proud of the little people they have become. Miles says and does the wisest things! He is moving and speaking like a big boy. He was diving into Liz's birthday cake with Sara Preston and he was distracted by something...he goes back over to the cake and says, "Lets get back to business Sae Sae!" He is so helpful and caring. He shares (most of the time) and is just all around pleasant. He soaked up every minute of vacation! Miles never napped-never rested until bedtime! He has gained such confidence in everything he does! He is usually so fearful in the water but this week he just swam like a fish (with a life jacket of course).
Barnes on the other hand is entering the two's! He is still as sweet as sugar but he loves to have his very own way! He adores his cousins Bradley, Luke, Lan, and Sae Sae and all of his close friends! He wants to do whatever Miles does which is so scary! He is his own little person! I really love that he loves!
Clay and I always talk about how thankful we are to have two sweet, healthy, happy children. Just watching them enjoy all of the little things the beach has to offer is just another example of our daily blessings!
I am going to post pictures of our week! I didn't take as many as I would have liked because water and two small children make me nervous, but I did take a few!

That Barnes!
Saturday morning at 8:00 we hear a little cry from the boys' room---"Mommy!" Reluctant to climb out of bed we let this go on for about ten minutes. We can hear Barnes jumping around and playing in his crib. Well the "Mommy" became "Daddy" so we decided to rescue him from his bed. When Clay snuck into the bedroom to get him this is what he saw! Barnes started out last night with a full set of pj's! I guess he was just ready to get his Saturday morning going. Clay and I laughed for the longest time and we let him walk around like this for a little while just for our enjoyment.
Happy Birthday Ellis!
Miles and Barnes had so much fun at Ellis' birthday party today! We were the last to leave! I hope Ellis didn't mind! She was a great birthday girl! I am sure she was very tired when her party was over because she was such a good hostess! I think she hugged everyone goodbye! What a sweetie!
Ready for a Party!
They boys were not excited about getting their picture made this afternoon but, they were excited about Ellis' pool party!

The End of a Great Season
Well tee ball season is over and Miles ended up having a great time. He played every minute of the last two games and even lined up and shook hands with the other team. The trophy made the whole season worth it! Miles is so excited about putting it in his room! We are so proud of Miles! Way to go.
Sunflowers...
Miles, Barnes, and Sara Preston were so cute in the sunflower fields. We took lots of cute pictures but here are some of our favorites!
Gam and Pop's
There is always a ton of things to do at Gam and Pop's house! Yesterday we rode the Gator to the sunflower fields and took pictures. Barnes and Sae Sae played chase and just had a good time. They are so sweet!

Luke!
Cousin Luke is growing everyday! Today we went outside played. He is so sweet. He just wants to love and play with everyone! He is so ready to do all of the things his big brother and cousins do! We love you baby Luke!
The Fire Alarm
After we arrived at the beach Friday night the boys played and went to bed around 10:00. On any ordinary night this might have been okay but tonight was a little different. Miriam, Russ, Clay, and I stayed up really late playing Tripoly and we knew Saturday would not be an easy day if the boys woke up early. Well at 6:00 am the fire alarm in the condo went off and it nearly scared Miriam and I to death! I ran and got Miles out of bed and Miriam did the same with Daniel. Clay grabbed Barnes (not nearly as fast as I would have liked but he could not find his glasses!) We all rushed down five flights of stairs and sat on the front lawn of the condo for twenty minutes waiting on the fire department. The good news is Miles and the others got to see the inside of a real fire truck. The bad news my boys didn't go back to sleep. Miles was okay until bedtime Saturday night and then he wanted to go home because he didn't want to hear that man on the radio again. Barnes crashed on the beach while riding on my shoulders. I guess we are lucky our kids can sleep pretty much anywhere.
Beach Party!
Miles and Barnes had wonderful time at the beach this past weekend. Miles' friend Daniel was already there on vacation and his family invited us down for the last weekend of their trip. Miles was so excited because he missed Daniel. Barnes was excited because he loves Daniel too death. Mom and Dad were excited to go to the beach and rest....(To be continued)
VBS
Miles had a blast this past week at VBS! I was lucky enough to one of the teachers in his class! It was so fun to see the kids play and learn about Jesus! They were so precious! We have been singing Surfing through the Scripture songs all week!
Let's Play Ball!
Miles finally joined the rest of his teammates on the field at last Tuesday's game! He did a great job! We were so proud. He told his Daddy he wasn't scared anymore. We knew he would just have to warm up to the whole situation. That's our Miles!
